Back in May 2012, I compiled a list of five celebs from these fair isles who were about to welcome a child into the world, and quite possibly might pick an interesting name. Let’s see how they got on, shall we?

1. Mark Owen

He welcomed a little girl named Fox India.

2. Mary Portas

Eventually she announced the arrival of Horatio in September 2012.

3. Nicola McLean

Sadly she miscarried the baby.

4. Samantha Morton

She has yet to release the name for her son born in mid-2012.

5. Uma Thurman

She welcomed a little girl named Rosalind Arusha Arkadina Altalune Florence ‘Luna’.

Currently Expecting

Alesha Dixon

This year, I’ve picked out a further five celebs to keep an eye on, they’re all expecting babies between now and January 2014:

1. Katie Price (AUGUST 2013)

Her three other children are called Harvey, Junior and Princess Tiaamii. Chances are, the name of the new ‘un will be interesting.

2. Peter Andre (JANUARY 2014)

Former husband of Katie Price, he is also due to become a father once more with his new partner. Together with Katie he welcomed Junior and Princess into the world, so it will be interesting to see what name he picks for his next child.

3. Frankie Sandford (NOVEMBER 2013)

Her The Saturdays bandmates have welcomed daughters named Aoife Belle (Una Healy) and Alaia-Mae (Rochelle Wiseman), so it should be interesting to see what name Frankie will pick.

4. Zara Phillips (JANUARY 2014)

The next royal baby will be interesting in that Zara could either go the more modern route of her brother (father of Savannah and Isla), or the more traditional picks like her cousin the Duke of Cambridge (father of Prince George of Cambridge).

5. Alesha Dixon (DECEMBER 2013)

She became famous as 1/3 of Mis-Teeq, whose most famous single was Scandalous. She seems to have a daring edge to her, so I’m interested to see what name she picks.
