Mo Farah became an overnight sensation here in the UK when he grabbed his first Olympic gold in the 10,000m during the so-called Super Saturday. That’s the gold medal you can see him winning in the above video, as featuring Ebbie. We were sat in the Westfield Shopping Centre, which is a 5 minute jog from the Olympic Park and a further 5 minute jog to the stadium from there. The following Saturday, he went on to claim his second gold in the 5,000m and the rest they say is history.
Except that about two weeks later Mo Farah had another double joy to celebrate – his wife Tania gave birth to twins girls. I’ve been waiting on their names since then, and have finally caught wind of them.
Rihanna
Amani
Aisha
Yes, Aisha and Amani start with the same letter but it’s not so bad really. Of course, at this point we should note that Rihanna is only a half-sibling (she’s Tania’s daughter from a previous relationship). Both of the names of the twins are Arabic in origin, with Amani meaning wishes and Aisha meaning alive. Apparently according to Mo, they simply wanted names of Muslim origin that began with the same letter.
I think they are a nice fit. They both have lovely meanings, and aren’t too similar sounding.
