2010

Imagine my annoyance when I found out that the 2010 popular names list had been released for England&Wales from a rather irritating little girl named Olivia, who was just infront of me in a queue for a ride at Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach.

Yes, it’s finally here, and it comes as no surprise that Jenson is one of the new entries to the Top 100, rising 47 places to #96. The other new entrants, with their new ranking are:

Aisha– #96 (+5)

Changes to the TOp 5 for girls, from bbc.co.uk

Annabelle – #89 (+16)

Dexter – #98 (+27)

Eliza – #93 (+26)

Bobby – #83 (+21)

Caleb – #87 (+27)

Kayden – #99 (+8)

Laila – #95 (+15)

Maisy – #100 (+41)

Maryam – #99 (+3)

Ollie – #63 (+52)

And what about the new entrants for the 2009 list, are they still in the Top 100?

Aiden – #66, with a 7 place increase

Arthur– #82, with an 11 place increase

Changes to the Top 5 for boys, from bbc.co.uk

Austin – #107, with a 7 place fall

Frederick – #95, moving up just one place

Heidi – #93, with a 4 place increase

Jude – #86, with a 12 place increase

Mya – #106, with a 6 place fall

Sara – #103, with a 4 place fall

Stanley – #88, with a 10 place increase

So Sara, Mya and Austin have all fallen out of the Top 100, but who else has?

Alisha, now at #114

Christopher, now at #104

Ellis, now at #102

Eve, now at #112

Ewan, now at #118

Francesca, now at #102

Joe, now at #108

Lydia, now at #107

Other big fallers for each gender, who fell 10 places or more, in the Top 100 were:

Aidan, fell 13 places to #91

Aimee, fell 10 places to #80

Alexandra, fell 10 places to #97

Amy, fell 10 places to #38

Bradley, fell 10 places to #100

John, fell 11 places to #94

Libby, fell 20 places to #98

Maddison, fell 13 places to #81

Owen, fell 12 places to #59

And finally, those names which rose more than 10 places in the Top 100 but are not the new entrants mentioned above are:

Arthur, rose 11 places to #82

Emilia, rose 19 places to #71

Esme, rose 21 places to #74

Noah, rose 14 places to #18

Sofia, rose 12 places to #62

Stanley, rose 10 places to #88

Zachary, rose 16 places to #51

  1. Huge jumps for Florence and Lacey! And I see your namecrush, Stanley, is increasing as well.

Jensen is the real stand out though – what a leap.
